According to the news today the Government are hoping to bring in laws that protect children from emotional harm. Emotional harm to a child can be just as harmful as that of physical or sexual abuse. Mental mind games, even to an adult are hard to deal with but for a child, who hasn’t reached adulthood, it must be confusing, hurtful and enough for a child to start on that harmful road of self harm. It is hardly surprising that there is discontent within Britain.. especially when we are being told the economy is doing better and we are on the road to recovery, yet our incomes are nowhere near as high as they should be and our standard of living is well below what it was prior to the recession.
Whilst families struggle to make ends meet and have to rely on food banks in order to feed their families and people, whether they are old or young having to decide whether to heat their home or eat, it is hardly surprising that the people of Britain are getting, to put it politely, pissed off. I know I am. Continue reading

Today’s challenge is rather a difficult one to answer, because WordPress asks, Who is the person in your life who can do no wrong? Describe this person and tell us why you hold them in such high esteem.
Why I find it hard to answer is because I don’t hole any person in such a high regard… that I would overlook their faults and believe they can’t do no wrong. Continue reading
Well the top of my list would have to be my laptop… complete with power cable (hoping electricity exists on my deserted island along with wi-fi). If not I am definitely b*ggered… Continue reading
Another day another prompt from WordPress… Today the challenge is: People are afraid of all kinds of things: spiders, the dark, or being enclosed in small spaces. Tell us about your greatest fear — rational or irrational. Continue reading

I would like to make this post go viral, not for blog traffic, not for comments or readership or any other reason like that, but because I genuinely would like your help in finding my very best childhood friend. A girl I grew-up with and lost touch with in the whirlwind of moves my mother was constantly making. If we blast this out there via all of our social media channels I am confident we will succeed.
How Can We Not?
I have a lot of detail I can provide to help , but sadly I do not have a scannable image to post. The only picture I have of her anyways is an old grainy Polaroid from my 5th birthday where she is partially visible.
If we think…

If you love somebody, set them free, so the song goes – advice which Debbi Wood is unable to take on board.
Othello syndrome.. new one on me. I’d call it a bloody control freak.. Sorry but this behaviour is not natural.. and no man will take this behaviour forever, without cracking at some point.
Wonder how she would feel if she kept being accused of looking at men.. Well I hope they don’t holiday abroad where topless bathing goes on.. cos the poor bloke will definitely need Factor 50 on the back of his head and neck.. and an appointment at his GP upon his return, where he has a crick in his neck… by having to look down at the ground all the time.
Trust is an integral part of a relationship.. there is no trust here. And as I said Othello syndrome is a new one on me.

A Government-funded scheme will see new mothers offered shopping vouchers in an attempt to make them breastfeed.
As much as I agree with breastfeeding babies, but seriously I don’t see why woman should be rewarded for doing it. I thought this Country had no money yet we can find money for projects like this.. whilst we evict people from their homes because they have a spare bedroom.
There are women out there who would love to breastfeed their babies but can’t due to various reasons.. either they babies wouldn’t take from the breast or because they had problems that prevented them being breastfed.
Those women won’t be rewarded.. which in my view could play heavily on a young mum’s mind, especially if she wanted to breastfeed and she couldn’t.. it could make her feel inadequate as a mother.
Seriously I can’t believe this Government at times..
