Yes you would expect that tone of language to be used, from a foul-mouthed hoodie wearing youth standing outside his local Offie shouting abuse at staff because they refused to sell him a bottle of Diamond White… but from a Government Minister who holds a high ranking position? No I wouldn’t expect that would you?.
Well according to the Sun, the Tory Chief Whip Andrew Mitchell allegedly told an on-duty Policeman who refused to open the gates for him and his antiquated bike to leave Downing Street, the following:
“Best you learn your f***ing place. You don’t run this f***ing government.
“You’re f***ing plebs.”
Now old Cammie boy doesn’t seem amused as he was interviewed about the incident. And Andrew Mitchell is denying that he used those words. He says:
“I attempted to leave Downing Street via the main gate, something I have been allowed to do many times before.
“I was told that I was not allowed to leave that way. While I do not accept that I used the words that have been reported, I accept I did not treat the police with the respect they deserve.
“I have seen the supervising sergeant and apologised and will also apologise to the police officer involved.”
So if the Sun is right and the Officer was called a Pleb is Andrew Mitchell now accusing the Police Officer of being a liar?
There again, the Police Officer could and should have followed the Mayor’s instructions out and arrested Andrew Mitchell… Yes back in 2011 Boris Johnson said this in his speech.
“If people swear at the police, they must expect to be arrested. Not just because it’s wrong to expect officers to endure profanities, but it’s also because of the experience of the culprits.
“If people feel there are no comebacks, no boundaries and no retribution for the small stuff, then I’m afraid they will go on to commit worse crimes.”
Now I wonder if the next youth or person who calls a Police Officer a Pleb or Moron will be treated with kid gloves like Mitchell was?
Come on Cammie sort your boys out. Have you ever heard of lead by example?
Altogether now…. Bye Bye Mitchell.. anyone for a reshuffle?
