Facecrook…

Sometimes a story hits the papers and you just can’t stop chuckling.. Talk about stupidity and getting caught out.

Now imagine the scene, you are stealing car, phones, laptops, jewellery and anything else that doesn’t belong to you.. so what do you do in order to keep out of jail?.. I know, you don’t tell a soul what you are doing..

But no today’s youth and their desire to be notorious and get street cred,  is what got this group of criminals caught.  You see they posted pictures of their criminal activities onto Facebook.

Conor MurphyConor Murphy, I suppose didn’t think that the Police would look on Facebook and him and the others thought pictures showing them committing crimes would go unnoticed, especially the one of him munching his way through a sandwich of notes.. Yes the idiot posted a picture of himself on Facebook, showing notes sandwiched between two slices of bread.

Mind you the rest of the gang don’t seem that clever either.

Yep the Mirror reports:

Conor Murphy was part of a gang who stole a fleet of top-end cars then bragged about it on Facebook before being jailed for more than 30 years yesterday.

He was snapped pretending to tuck into hundreds of pounds worth of notes sandwiched between two slices of bread.

The eight men stole nine cars – including BMWs, Range Rovers, Porsches and a £100,000 Mercedes – as well as jewellery, phones and laptops in 15 separate burglaries.

But after one of the gang members posted a picture of himself sat on the bonnet of a stolen black Range Rover on Facebook, police found scores of other incriminating images on the social network site and on phones, showing the crew boasting about their wealth.

They showed the men sitting in the stolen cars, drinking champagne, wearing Rolex and Cartier watches and posing with huge piles of £20 and £50 notes.

The Officer in the case DI Craig Leonard is quoted as saying:

“These eight were a group of young lads who were good at what they did.

“But their downfall was that they were stupid.”

Stupid. Yep, you can say that again… 😀  Perhaps Facebook should rename itself to FaceCrook
