Daily Prompt: Unleash Your Inner Dickinson

poetryWell today’s DailyPrompt is Unleash your inner Dickinson, so here goes.

Now WordPress have set a challenge,
To write a verse or two.
Of all things they have set
By far this is the hardest yet.

Do I write about love or hate?
Or secrets that I have told my mate?
Or do I write it like a book?
And hope that gets me off the hook?

They want me to place a pingback,
So their bloggers can look back,
On the words that I have written,
On a task that has got me beaten.

Do I write about peace and love?
And use the picture of  a white winged dove?
Or do I try and take this serious?
Even though I am now going delirious.

So my short like piece of prose,
Will be something simple to compose.
In order to meet their daily task.
Please like my post, I therefore ask.

    1. Thank you, I thought I would try to add some humour to the challenge.. I really do admire those that can write poetry and prose.. it seems to just flow from them.. not for me though.
